Apple is gearing up for the imminent release of the Apple Vision Pro, as stock has begun arriving at distribution centers, signaling a potential launch in February.
The much-anticipated mixed-reality headset from Apple was initially slated for an early 2024 launch in the U.S. While there were rumors of a possible late January launch, it now appears that the introduction may happen in February.
According to Mark Gurman’s “Power On” newsletter for Bloomberg, the headset is currently being dispatched to warehouses across the United States in limited quantities before reaching Apple Stores. There seems to be sufficient stock available for a February launch.
In addition, Apple is expected to make an official announcement about the Apple Vision Pro within the next week, potentially diverting attention away from the upcoming CES event.
Confirming previous reports, Apple has begun flying two to four retail employees from U.S. Apple Stores to Cupertino for training on a new product, which is hinted to be the headset. The trained employees will then return to their respective stores to instruct others about the Apple Vision Pro. A three-hour meeting for all employees in U.S. stores is scheduled for January 21, likely for in-store training, with additional training sessions anticipated in the following days.
Later in the week and into the next, stores will receive new inventory racks, and changes to backroom equipment will commence.
