Key features of Android 15 second Developer Preview
1. Satellite Connectivity Support: Android 15 facilitates SMS/MMS/RCS communication via low-orbit satellites, boasting a consistent UI and enabling app detection of satellite connectivity.
2. Screen Recording Detection: Apps can now detect and block screen recording activity, bolstering privacy protection.
3. Enhanced PDF Functionality: The update enhances PDF rendering, adding support for password-protected files, annotations, form editing, and more.
4. HDR Headroom Control: Users gain the ability to adjust HDR headroom, optimizing contrast and dynamic range based on the display panel’s capabilities.
Additional features include improved NFC functionality, on-device multi-language audio recognition, extended support for cover screen apps on foldable devices, compliance with the CTA-2075 loudness standard, and app archiving from the App Info screen to free up storage space.
Currently, Android 15 DP 2 is exclusively available for select Pixel devices, catering primarily to developers. Eligible devices include Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet.
