Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station says early iPhone 20 Pro prototypes use a 6.41-inch screen at about 2,686 × 1,236 pixels, and the Pro Max uses a 6.96-inch screen at about 2,912 × 1,340. The tipster posted the numbers on Weibo. He also says the figures are early and could change before production.
The gains over the current Pro models are small. The Pro would grow by about 0.1 inch and the Pro Max by roughly 0.06 inch, and the pixel density would stay near 460 ppi, so sharpness should look the same. The iPhone 18 Pro measures 6.27 inches at 2,622 × 1,206, and the 18 Pro Max measures 6.86 inches at 2,868 × 1,320. Digital Chat Station has said the Pro Max panel would probably be sold as a 7-inch display.
The shape of the glass may matter more than the size. The prototypes reportedly have a quad-curved design and a smaller cutout. In April, the same leaker said Apple was working with Samsung on a custom panel with slightly curved edges on all four sides and no polarizer layer. A separate August claim from him described a flat screen under a glass cover that uses optical refraction to create a borderless look.
The front camera is where the reports disagree. This leak describes a punch-hole cutout, while a render video covered in May showed no visible cutout at all, with the camera and Face ID under the display. That suggests the test units and the final design could differ. Apple was also said to be working with Samsung and LG on the brightness loss around curved edges.
The phones would arrive in 2027, the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone. Apple has not commented, and everything here comes from one leaker, so treat the numbers as provisional.
