Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy S26 Plus has resurfaced after months of speculation about its cancellation, with official CAD renders now revealing the premium flagship that will define the company’s 2026 lineup. Initially rumored to be scrapped in favor of the ultra-slim S26 Edge, Samsung’s decision to resurrect the Plus model signals a return to proven market familiarity over experimental designs.
The Galaxy S26 Plus maintains a familiar form factor with dimensions of 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35mm, making it virtually identical in size to its predecessor. However, the device receives a notable design refresh on the rear, abandoning separate camera circles in favor of an oval-shaped camera island inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This unified module houses all three lenses beneath a sleek oval protrusion, creating a more cohesive and modern aesthetic while keeping the LED flash positioned outside the island.
The front remains largely unchanged, featuring Samsung’s signature narrow bezels and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a centered single hole-punch for the 12MP selfie camera. The Ultra model may receive a larger camera cutout to accommodate an upgraded 85-degree field of view, up from the S25 Ultra’s 80 degrees.
Camera improvements represent the most significant hardware upgrades. The S26 Plus will debut a new 50MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNG primary sensor, offering a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor size—a substantial jump from the 1/1.56-inch sensor used since the Galaxy S22. The 12MP telephoto gets upgraded to a larger 1/2.55-inch sensor with 3x optical zoom, while the 12MP Sony IMX564 ultrawide lens carries over from previous generations. A new Advanced Professional Video codec enables 4K 60fps recording from both front and rear cameras, appealing to content creators.
Under the hood, the S26 Plus features LPDDR5X RAM running at 10.7Gbps—10% faster than the S25 series—with 12GB RAM as standard across the entire lineup. Depending on region, the device will be powered by either Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipsets.
Battery capacity remains 4,900mAh, matching the S25 Plus, while supporting 45W wired and wireless charging. The device will ship with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, bringing enhanced AI features alongside the hardware improvements.
Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, with sales commencing in early February. Early renders showcase an orange color variant alongside traditional white, though these are likely representative hues only.
The Galaxy S26 Plus represents Samsung’s more conservative approach to 2026—delivering incremental but meaningful upgrades across camera, performance, and battery life rather than pursuing radical design experiments.
