Apple’s latest lineup—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and the all new iPhone Air—is available for preorder globally starting September 12 at 5:30 PM IST via Apple’s official website and the Apple Store app. In India, eager buyers can secure their device on apple.com, the Apple Store app, and through leading retailers including Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, Croma, and Vijay Sales. Preorders ensure guaranteed delivery when the phones officially ship from September 19, sidestepping potential rush day shortages or price premiums.
Retail chains like Croma are also offering instore prebooking options. Customers can lock in the standard iPhone 17 or iPhone Air with a ₹2,000 advance, while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max require a ₹17,000 booking fee. Though Croma hasn’t revealed card based discounts yet, Apple’s own preorder pages promise launch offers including no cost EMI up to six months and instant cashback up to ₹5,000 on select American Express, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank cards.

Pricing in India starts at ₹82,900 for the iPhone 17 (256 GB), ₹1,19,900 for the iPhone Air (256 GB), and ₹1,34,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro (256 GB). The baseline 256 GB storage across all models represents a jump from last year’s 128 GB base, delivering better value despite slightly higher entry prices. In the US, the iPhone 17 begins at $799, the iPhone Air at $999, and the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,099 for equivalent storage capacities.
Ahead of today’s launch window, Apple’s online Store briefly went offline in India for system updates, displaying a “Preorder begins at 5:30 PM IST” message to set the countdown tone. Once preorders go live, Apple will start shipping all four models—including the Pro Max variant—on September 19, with availability in 63 countries initially and more regions to follow on September 26.
