OnePlus has started officially teasing the OnePlus 16 in China, though it has not announced a launch date. The company confirmed a 165Hz refresh rate across the system and Android 17 based ColorOS 17. Pre-order listings show three colors: Dark Forest, Martian Masterpiece and Tomorrow Starlight. The Tomorrow Starlight version has a breathing light in the rear panel that lights up the logo and a set of celestial coordinates. The phone also has a squared-off metal camera module, heavily rounded corners and a customizable AI button on the left edge.

Most of the rest comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, whose Weibo post lists a 9,000mAh battery, a 200MP main camera, a BOE X4 display and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The battery is said to be a dual-cell unit rated at 8,780mAh, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The OnePlus 15 has a 7,300mAh cell. The screen is expected to measure around 6.78 inches with a 1.5K resolution and to reach 185Hz in games. The rear cameras are reportedly a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide. Qualcomm has not yet released the chip, which is rumored to use a 2nm process.
A separate leak on X gives China pricing:
- 8GB + 256GB => CNY 4,999 (about $740)
- 12GB + 256GB => CNY 5,499
- 12GB + 512GB => CNY 5,999
- 16GB + 1TB => CNY 7,499
The 8GB base model would be the first OnePlus flagship with that little RAM since the OnePlus 11. The pre-order listings, however, show memory starting at 12GB, so the base variant may not exist. The OnePlus 15 currently sells in China for CNY 5,099.
India is the open question. OnePlus has said it will no longer launch new products in North America or Europe. Some reports expect an Indian debut around November, roughly a month after China, while others say OnePlus may skip India for this model. Estimates for an Indian price range from Rs 64,999 to Rs 89,990. India TV puts it near Rs 75,000, and a direct conversion of CNY 4,999 comes to about Rs 71,000. Chinese and Indian prices differ in taxes and distribution costs, so a straight conversion may miss the mark. Memory costs are also rising across the industry, which could push the final figure up.
