OnePlus launched the N6x in India on July 31, priced at ₹18,999. It’s the second phone in the company’s new budget lineup, following the N6 by about a month, and the whole pitch comes down to one spec: a 7,000mAh battery that OnePlus says can run for 2.5 days on a charge. That’s their lab number, not a guarantee — real-world battery life always depends on how you actually use the thing.
The battery is the point
Charging tops out at 15W, which feels almost stubborn in 2026, when even mid-range phones routinely hit 45W or higher. But that’s the trade-off here: OnePlus bet that buyers in this price bracket would rather plug in less often than plug in faster. A 5,300mm² vapor chamber is also stuffed inside to keep things cool, which matters more for sustained use than for topping off quickly.
The screen is where the cost-cutting shows
You get a 6.8-inch LCD panel running at HD+ — 720 x 1,570 pixels — with a 120Hz refresh rate and 900 nits of peak brightness. That resolution is the giveaway. On a screen this size, text and fine detail won’t look as sharp as they would at 1080p, even with the smooth scrolling a 120Hz panel provides. It’s a reasonable place to save money if the alternative is cutting the battery instead.
Chipset and storage
Power comes from MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 Apex, paired with 4GB of RAM. Storage comes in two flavors — 64GB for ₹18,999 or 128GB for ₹20,999 — and there’s a microSD slot for anyone who needs more room. Neither the chip nor the RAM is aimed at gaming or heavy multitasking. This is a phone for calls, messaging, social apps, and streaming, not a phone you buy to edit video on.
Cameras
A single 13MP rear camera handles photos, with a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. OnePlus is also including a few of its AI editing tools — Portrait Glow, Eraser, and Unblur — which lean on software to compensate for a fairly basic camera setup. Whether that actually closes the gap with phones that have better hardware is something you’d have to test yourself.
Build and durability
The N6x measures 166.38 x 78.13 x 8.65mm and weighs 214g — light for a phone with a battery this large. It carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance and MIL-STD-810H certification, meaning it’s been tested against drops, vibration, and temperature extremes. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is still a small relief to see on a new phone.
Software
It ships on OxygenOS 16, built on Android 16. OnePlus hasn’t said much yet about how long software updates will run, which is worth checking before you commit if long-term support matters to you.
